Situated on the main artery leading from the city to the sea, this plot was dedicated to a commercial and leisure complex many years prior to planning. The plot was to be completed with the addition of an arched artificial landmass to form a round lagoon in its centre. The minister of tourism decided to construct a complex that would combine the functions of a hotel, commercial and residential centre. It would benefit from the plot’s special configuration as well as its position relative to the city. On the side of the plot that is in direct contact with the city and benefits from the existing parking facilities, one can find the commercial complex with conference halls and cinemas, connected to a luxury hotel on the one side and a health club on the other. An array of restaurants facing the lagoon is to be found in front of the health club. The Heritage Village with shops, restaurants and the Museum of Pearls is located in front of the two functions and connected to a pearl nursery on the lagoon. The opposite part of the plot hosts the residential area of the complex, as the luxurious chalets benefit from magnificent views of the open seas on the one side and the lagoon on the other.
