Atrina Center is located on 26th October Street in an old industrial region of Salonica which has been upgraded in recent years. The plot has a triangular shape with the longer side along the main road enhancing its commercial value.
The Center is divided into 3 parts: a 6-floor office building, a shopping center at the ground floor and a basement car park underneath the entire plot.
A central target of the concept was to capitalize on the commercial value of the plot offering a maximum of retail spaces accessed from the main street. Therefore, the ground floor occupies all the permissible cover area and is treated like a podium for the rest of the building. Furthermore, a transparent glass canopy enhances through its lightness and imponderability the retail zone towards the main street.
The particularity of inner space is the generous skylight on the top of a central atrium surrounded by offices. This permit’s a double side natural lighting for the office spaces, from outside and from the inner elevation through an open corridor towards the atrium.
A special attention was given to the main corner of the triangular plot, a strong vertical element was created, where triangular shaped balconies emerge from a neutral glass façade and terminate in the sharp edge of the back elevations wall.
