The residential and office tower CRECO is located in the industrial centre of Kuwait City. The tower rises over a podium which is dedicated to commercial functions. The rest of the plot is a multi-level parking building on the top of which you can find the health centre, with an indoor swimming pool , tennis courts and cafeteria. The tower’s volume is based on a semi-cylindrical glass structure, which houses offices. This structure penetrates a rectangular volume and only remains visible through a vertical shaft at the centre. A similarly rectangular volume of apartments can be found directly behind the semi-cylindrical tower. The contrast between the translucent surface of the semi-cylindrical tower and the solid one of the other volumes, gives the multifunctional volume distinct character. The general aspect of the complex is complemented by the metallic structures of the health centre as well as the inclined roof of the semi-cylindrical tower.
